January 2018

"The dream begins, most of the time, with a teacher who believes in you, who tugs and pushes and leads you on to the next plateau, sometimes poking you with a sharp stick called truth."--Dan Rather

Each and every one of us could tell the story of our educational experiences.  Most of these stories include one or more teachers that really impacted the course of our lives, that pushed us to think differently, that helped us discover our personal talents, as well as modeled how we could make a difference in the world.  At Alliant International University, we strive to develop the teacher that leave a lasting impact on their students.  Our Mission as part of the California School of Education is to prepare competent, confident and conscientious educational leaders who will promote and empower personal growth, academic success, and professional achievements for all in a global society.  Through our carefully designed course of study we have integrated evidence-based, data—drive educational concepts into coursework that focuses on the needs of our diverse populations and the needs of the 21st century society.  Our goal as faculty are to LEAD our students and equip them with the skills to LEAD their own students:

L - Leadership

E - Engagement

A - Application

D -  Dedication

Never has LEADing the next generation of California’s students been more important.  Currently the Center for the Future of Teaching and Learning estimates that with a third of the teaching force nearing retirement, we will need an additional 100,000 teachers over the next decade.  The time is now to take the steps to prepare for a career that makes a difference and has a daily impact upon our society.

If you have ever considered being a teacher, please meet with our Admissions team and learn how we could support you in becoming an elementary or secondary teacher and LEADing the students of California.

Best wishes-
